This is from a most interesting report on the Chinese military. But what is interesting is that China still downplays its military strength. So when a Chinese source says: "General Yao says the gap between American and Chinese forces is “at least 30, maybe 50, years”." You know this is not true. The gap is much smaller. A report on the subject by the Council on Foreign Relations a few years ago estimated the gap at 15 years. (thanks John 2)
