Al-Wifaq in Bahrain

Al-Wifaq in Bahrain has proven its utter failures and incompetence.  It has been quite accommodating vis-a-vis the regime and has been incapable of speaking out forcefully against Saudi military intervention.  This has been due to its sectarian framework and to its possible links with Iran.  Its relationship with Ahmad Chalabi--who has been serving as its semi-official lobbyist--is a sign of its moral and political bankruptcy.  But the Bahraini youth are moving beyond Wifaq, and they are no more beholden to its agenda.  Al-Wifaq is a burden on the Bahraini opposition.
