When Western media report on Syria

Go around the internet and see how many stories there are about Russian troops arriving in Syria.  Click on one of them and see the documentation or sourcing.  Here is a sample of sources in the story on the Huffington Post (for those outside the US, the site is considered quite liberal): "Al Arabiya writes that DEBKAfile, an open-source military intelligence website based in Israel, has reported that two Russian ships have arrived in Syria's port of Tartus."  So let me get this straight.  Al-Arabiyya (the site of the news station of King Fahd's brother-in-law) is reporting on the bases of another report in DEBKAfile--a known Israeli intelligence site? I mean, how low can US journalism sink in reporting on Syria, really?
