Calls to free Al-Akhbar contributing journalist and translator held in Egypt

"Egypt detained on Saturday Al-Akhbar contributor and Australian journalist, Austin Gerassimos Mackell, along with Egyptian translator, Aliya Alwi, and an American student, Derek Ludovici, in the town of Mahalla north of Cairo.   Alwi, still able to tweet despite her arrest, reported that the three had been charged with "inciting protest and vandalism", and were transferred to the military prosecutor's office in Tanta, an hour north of Cairo."
