Of course, the practice of assassinating `Alawites, particularly professional `Alawites, fits the pattern of violence practices by the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood (and its outgrowth) since the late 1970s.  The Syrian regime's pattern of violence is indiscriminate: against anybody who defies the regime.
