"One more Nepali woman has been subjected to torture and servitude in foreign land. Bedmaya Karki from Chulachuli-1 of Ilam was sent home packing by her Saudi Arabian employer after torturing and tormenting her for four years.
Karki, who is undergoing treatment at Nobel Medical Hospital in Biratnagar, said her employer used to pour boiling water over her body and beat her senseless all through her stay. “I once tried to escape but he caught me and continued to torture me,” she said.
After years of torture and torment, Karki began to display cognitive shortcomings, which prompted her employer to take her to a Saudi airport and make her board a Nepal-bound flight.
Karki’s 68-year-old mother, Manmaya, had received a telephone call from a stranger who informed about the arrival of her abnormal behaving daughter. The caller had found the telephone number from the diary Karki was carrying." (thanks Keval)
