Ghalyun

How sad. Ghalyun is now just like a caricature of a typical 3rd rate politician.  The New York Times today has an article celebrating the agreement between Burhan Ghalyun and Haytham Al-Manna`.  Well, the agreement lasted one day exactly.  Ghalyun issued a statement in which he said that his signature means absolutely nothing and that he wanted to refer the matter to the executive council of the Syrian National Council.  As is known, the NATO contingent in the Syrian National Council was furious that the statement between Ghalyun and Manna` rejected foreign intervention.  Ghalyun later explained that he is only opposed to ground troops' intervention but that NATO bombing of Syria does not count as military intervention.  Any Arab intellectual who harbors political ambitions should watch the example of Ghalyun to kill once and for all any political ambitions in him, if he is self-respecting that is.
