Carnegie Endowment for Arab Monarchies

This is the guy who is running the democracy program at Carnegie Endowment (and who got his job for serving the authoritarian regime of King Husayn in its worst phase), Marwan Mouasher:  "Contrary to what ongoing protests across the Middle East and North Africa might imply, monarchs and ruling families in the Arab world still enjoy an extraordinary degree of legitimacy in the eyes of their people."  When I was in Washington, DC, Marina Ottaway was an expert on Africa.  I dont know how and when she became a Middle East expert.  She must have had Middle East meals in the Washington, DC area. Do you need more for qualifications on the Middle East in DC? (thanks Ahmet)
