Trilateral Alliance

People (especially supporters of the Syrian regime) forget that the Syrian regime was from 1989 until 2005 part of a repressive trilateral alliance with the Egyptian and Saudi regimes.  They were the disciplining arm of the repressive order in the region, often acting (like in 1990-91) on behalf of US aggression.
