Sudayris consolidate power in Saudi Arabia

The appointment of Prince Salman as Minister of Defense and Bribes and the appointment of Prince Khalid Bin Sultan as his deputy only confirms the consolidation of power by the Sudayris.  Saudi King's options were limited all along because he does not have brothers, but only half brothers.  And given the rigid traditional age hierarchy within House of Saud, the King could not rely on his sons to build a faction within the family.  This will make succession less shaky than predicted by some analysts.  There is no powerful rival faction that can threaten the hold of the Sudayris thus far.
