I could not believe that Burhan Ghalyun would wind up playing this role; a role that runs counter to all his writings and his secularism. Today, I saw him standing next to the Cicero of the Syrian opposition. I felt bad for him. He either could not see the extent of the conspiracy that has nothing to do with the plight of the oppressed Syrian people, or he sees but decides to go along for political reasons. Either way he is not excused.
