Anthony Shadid on Homs: meet the democrats who chop off heads

I have to say this on this piece by Shadid: it is probably the first informative piece I have read on Syria in the Western press that is not filled with propaganda of the Ikhwan and their various councils.  "“My cousin was kidnapped, and he was a civilian Alawite,” said a dissident activist from the Alawite neighborhood of Al Zahra in Homs, where locales are often largely segregated by sect. “He was found killed and his head was chopped off.”"
