This is supposed to be a touching story: a poet/colonial settler/terrorist occupier

"Cohen did many stints as an army reservist. His last one he spent manning a checkpoint in a beautiful setting in the Palestinian territories and reading the verse of the late Mahmoud Darwish, lauded as the national poet of the Palestinians.  Once, Cohen called Darwish. Correct and courteous, the elder poet insisted on English despite his good Hebrew. Cohen introduced himself as a "settler boy" and that was the end of that. That hurt, he says, still trying to complete the conversation 15 years later."  Oh, were his feelings hurt? I mean, what kind of propaganda trash get published in the US media. I mean, there are poets in Hamas and Hizbullah, would they ever get profiled glowingly in the US press?  And please: read his lousy poetry.  Judge for yourselves.  I love poetry: I love poetry by bad people.  This guy should not be even considered a poet, damn it.  But it proves my theory: no book, no matter how lousy and trashy, can get a negative review if published in Israel.
