Israel's strategic dilemma

Just think about it. What stands between Israel and its demise is the US.  Without the US, Israel's demise would be speedy.  In theory, US support for Israel is a variable, but the demise of Israel can, and will, be accomplished without a change in that variable.  I mean, imagine Israel in a war without US military support.  What would befall it?
