The scenario is crazier than I thought. So the Iranian government wanted to kill the Saudi ambassador and to bomb two embassies (not one): the Israeli and the Saudi embassies in Washington, DC. As to why they chose Washington, DC as opposed to a Latina American or Asian country, the answer is simple: security is very lax in the city, and the US is very lenient with Iranians traveling around the country. But the thing that is quite astonishing: is that the Iranian government, or "a faction in the Iranian government"--whatever that means, decided on this plot so they decided that two people would be all that they need, plus a drug dealer or two in Mexico. Are you aware how this will play in court?
