"if only the Syrian government would allow international media to move around the country freely like we did in Iraq!" You care brag about the US record toward journalists in occupied Iraq? A record that keeps bringing down the annual rank of the US on freedom of expression put out by Reporters without Borders? Let us hope that the lousy Syrian government does not emulate the record of the US in puppet Iraq, where US forces shot and killed a large number of journalists, and where the US bombed the offices of Aljazeera.
After posting this, I read this in the New York Times: "NATO acknowledged Thursday that an American soldier killed an Afghan journalist working for the BBC after mistaking him for a suicide bomber during a complex attack in southern Afghanistan in July."
