This from Angry Arab chief Bahrain correspondent: "Bahrain witnessed very large demonstrations last friday, said to be the largest yet since after the crackdown. Shaikh Isa Qassim (opposition gave a speech) as did Shaikh AlMahmood (pro-regime) and his brother. You already posted the link I sent you about Shaikh AlMahmood's speech and his brothers. Strange. Strange. Strange. The doctors have been released on bail. Their trial is on september 29. Three nurses still remain in prison. Their cases are separate I believe. Scores of people welcomed the doctors after their release. They were attacked by the riot police. The King has pardoned the athletes. I am not sure what this pardon entails. The athletes don't seem too happy about it. Sawsan Taqwi now the MP for the Northern Governate's second constituency. She won by default after all four candidates (all pro-regime of course just like she is) withdrew all of a sudden. Strange don't you think. Why did they withdraw? The PM ordered the ministry of education to employ those who volunteered to teach when the teachers were on strike on february. Of course these "volunteers" are simply pro-regime opportunists. The pro-regime have been "threatening" the government to employ these volunteers for a while now (see speech by Shaikh Ahmad AlMahmood
The following prisoners were released today on bail: Professor Masoud Jahromi, Lawyer Taymour Karimi, Shaikh Maitham AlSalman. Hussain Salimi, Mohammad Ali, and Abdul-Nadi AlMosawi
Of course, despite all these people being released, arrests are still taking place."
There are rumors that Hasan Mushaima, the secretary general of Haq, will be released tomorrow. I'm skeptical but if he is released then something HUGE is definitely going on behind the scenes."
