Samer sent me this:  "He claimed that a Jordanian spy had been behind one of the greatest and most
mysterious assassination of terrorist figure in decades, the 2008 slaying of
former Hezbollah security chief Imad Mughniyeh. the man who was dubbed Abu
Dukhan – the Father of Smoke – .... Mughniyeh name was on the FBI most wanted
list, which blamed him for the separate bombings 1983 of the marines barracks in
Beirut ....And it was the Mukhabrat, Ben Zied said, that exacted vengeance.
There was yet another surprise. One of the most enduring mysteries since the
founding of the modern jihadest movement was who had killed Abdullah Azzam who
helped lead the anti-soviet insurgency in Afghanistan in 1983...Now Ben Zied
said flatly that Azzam’s death had been the work of the Mukhabart. He even
Offered the name of the assassin: Ben Zied own boss, Ali Burjak , the “Red
Devil” “."  (From the "Triple Agent", pp. 81-82).
