"After weeks of being told by both sides that it was dangerous to even suggest such a thing, with many Hariri supporters even suggesting that they were praying it wasn't true, I casually mentioned the allegation to a Hezbollah commander that I had known for some time, expecting a pat denial and finger extended toward Tel Aviv." Let me say this to Mitch (who says several sensible things in the article): anyone who identifies himself as "a Hizbullah commander" is not a Hizbullah commander. That I know for sure. You know the story of Joseph Samahah and `Imad Mughniyyah? Joseph Samahah (founding editor of Al-Akhbar) was invited by his friends to visit South Lebanon to meet people who fought Israel. One of the people who accompanied him throughout the day was none other than `Imad Mughniyyah. Not only did Joseph not know that this was `Imad Mughniyyah (who went by the name of Hajj Rudwan), but even the Hizbullah fighters did not know that this was their commander. (thanks anonymous)
