Blanford and the fake interview

"LBC television said on Sunday that “TIME magazine reporter Nicholas Blanford clarified that he was not the one who conducted the interview with one of the suspects in the indictment issued by the UN-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).   Based on a phone conversation with Blanford, the television station added that “‘another person’ conducted the interview; all he [Blanford] did was deduct a part of it and add it to the body of his article in the magazine.”"  Let me clarify further: so Blanford, whose byline appears on the story, did not conduct the interview but heard about an interview with a guy claiming to be a wanted man?  I mean, that sounds very convincing and professional to me, don't you think?
