"In an effort to counter a rare eruption of public criticism against members of Jordan’s royal family, Queen Rania has undergone a subtle image makeover in recent months that has seen the wife of King Abdullah play down her glamorous reputation in favour of a more low-key approach.  Close observers of the Jordanian court say the queen is now seen in public above all in connection with charitable and educational projects.
