Political cowardice of the Asad regime

How politically cowardly this regime is: 1) it is scared of Israel and does not even respond to Israeli attacks on Syrian territory.  Last time Nidal Qabalan invited me to speak on Syrian TV by phone from the US, I told him: how can I not go against the regime when they dont even say that "we will assign the time and place" of the battle with Israel anymore?  2)  it is scared of its own people.  3) it is terrified of Saudi Arabia.  The Saudi media are launching an all out war on the Syrian regime, and the Syrian official regime is saying not one word and only speak in vague terms about a "conspiracy".  At least Hafidh used to get paid for his silence by Saudi regime (read James Baker's last book).  Bashshar caters to Saudi Arabia without even receiving anything form them.
