Adonis in 1976

I was reading Al-Hadaf (mouthpiece of the PFLP) issues from 1976, and I came across an article attacking Adonis.  People forget that in the spring of 1976, when the Syrian military forces invaded Lebanon to crush the military campaign of the PLO-Lebanese National Movement, Adonis fled to Damascus where he was warmly welcomed by the Syrian regime.  He was given a teaching post at Damascus University and edited the cultural supplement of the Syrian regime daily, Ath-Thawrah.
