Writing style (and imagery) of Thomas Friedman

Read this article: I mean, is there anything in it that Obama did not say in his speech on the Middle East?  And he could not come up with a better imagery than making lemonade?  One more time: the popularity of this writer in the US is due not to his competence but to his incompetence and his 8-grade level of writing.
