There is a funny trend among US and Israeli media. For decades, they helped spread the propaganda claim that the Mossad is the best intelligence service in the world and that its chiefs are most brilliant men (women may not apply). So if any former Mossad chief says anything--ANYTHING--they make it sound as if it is a brilliant insight. I saw that even by US officials in Wikileaks. So if a former Mossad chief says: be careful. Syria is in the Middle East, as is Lebanon, or anything other stupid statement, the press rushes to write fawning commentaries along the lines: wow. What a brilliant insight. Wow. That former Mossad chief really knows what he is talking about, otherwise he would not have said that Syria is in the Middle East.
