It is hilarious that Akhbar Ahmad (friend of Israel) is now cited universally in the US as not only the expert on Islam but as the voice of Muslim Americans (when this British fellow only moved here a few years ago). He is always ready to justify whatever US does, and always is willing to offer Muslim stamp of approval. I was thinking yesterday: if, say, the US government decides to remove the Ka`ba and relocate it to Tel Aviv, I can imagine Akbar Ahmed commenting to the New York Times thus:
I think that the move would be widely welcomed by world Muslims because they see it as a gesture of humaneness by the US and they consider Tel Aviv to be a much better venue for their worship.
Thank you, Mr. expert Akbar Ahmad on your wise words on Islam. Without you, American Zionists would not understand Muslims.
