"But one former detainee who was set free, identified as Abu Sufian Ibrahim Ahmed Hamuda bin Qumu, is apparently training with rebel forces in Libya and has close ties to Al Qaeda that Guantanamo officials did not realize when they released him. Qumu allegedly has a history of training at two Al Qaeda camps, fighting the Soviets and the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan, and joining up with other Al Qaeda operatives in Sudan — all warning signs that the U.S. should have considered before releasing him, the documents say."
