Thomas Friedman in Ash-Shuruq

Thomas Friedman was interviewed in Ash-Shuruq newspaper in Egypt.  I did not like the questions at all or the interview.  There are people in our lands who think that if somebody is famous it must be because of standards and merit and qualification and competence.  They think that the West always adheres to merit standards.  Hell, I came to the US thinking that Barbara Walters is a journalist--I kid you not.  So aside from that comment of mine, she really gave it to him about his last column regarding the sparks of the Egyptian revolution.  She seemed to mock him which explains how uncomfortable he was in the rest of the interview where he only had a few words to offer in answers--so unlike him.
