The Saudi-Israeli alliance: the case of the New York Times

Look at this headline in the New York Times:  "Saudi Troops Enter Bahrain to Help Put Down Unrest."  Can you imagine if the New York Times headlined back in 1990: Iraqi troops enter Kuwait to help keep law and order?  Or: Hitler enters Poland to keep the peace.  But the paper edition of the New York Times had this headline for the same story:  "Saudis, fearful of Iran, send troops to Bahrain to quell protests."  You know what this means? That the New York Times is now providing a special service for Saudi policies and actions: justifications. This is a service that NYT has reserved for Israel only in the Middle East (and for Turkey when it was a military dictatorship aligned with Israel).
