Khazen talks about the case of Mustafa Amin, again. The matter is not a mystery, although Saudi columnists or writers or propagandists never miss an opportunity to dig against Nasser and to prove that the claims of his regime were all bogus. In his book, Legacy of Ashes, Tom Weinder, has the final word on the matter: he reveals that Mustafa Amin was indeed what the Nasser regime alleged: a spy for the CIA. Also, the testimony of the US ambassador in Egypt at the time--which he gave to Georgetown Library's oral diplomatic history project--admits that the Nasser regime accusation was correct. So enough propaganda, Mr. Khazen.
PS Khazen recently wrote about Bahrain: of course, he found that the opposition in Bahrain is all wrong and that the Bahraini royal family is all right and correct. But then again: since when does a columnist in a Saudi paper ever deviate from Saudi royal policies?
