Ill-informed US public weighs in: they really heart Israeli aggression

"In brief, 63% of Americans say that their sympathies lie with the Israelis, 17% with the Palestinians. This is the highest sympathy for Israel since 1988, except for in 1991 when Saddam sent some Scud missiles their way. Throughout the 90s and 2000s sympathy for them was in the 40s and 50s. So it seems as if Palestinian non-violence, Lebanon, Gaza, flotilla, Palestine Papers, extreme right-wing government  and the like only increased sympathy for them.  About two-thirds have a favourable opinion of Israel and 19% have a favourable opinion of the Palestinian Authority."  (thanks Liane)
