When Egyptian police supports the demonstrations

Egyptian chief of security police in Cairo said that the government supports the demonstrations against the Fitnah in Egyptian.  Many Egyptians on Twitter and Facebook have been wondering why this "support" has been translated into beatings of demonstrators.
