Hizbullah and Hamas

I saw the US government ignore the PLO for much of the 1980s.  Now, the US government provides funding for the PLO.  I saw footage this week: first of the Hamas rally in Gaza and today of the `Ashurah commemoration in the southern suburbs of Beirut. I know that it is a Zionist policy for the US to ignore the presence of Hamas and Hizbullah but the footage leaves a clear impression regarding the mass base of both movements.
