Wadi Abu Jamil

I am reading Nada `Abd As-Samad (the BBC correspondent)'s book, Wadi Abu Jamil about the history of Lebanese Jews.  I may write a whole article on the subject but I must confess that I was alarmed and underimpressed when I saw that her historical introduction cites Wikipedia.  I kid you not.  My students are forewarned that any reference to Wikipedia in college papers would get a non passing grade.
