Syrian workers in Lebanon
Neither the lousy Syrian government nor the lousy Lebanese government, and neither March 14 nor March 8 care about the plight of Syrian workers in Lebanon. Last week, two Syrian workers were killed in Lebanon: one "fell" from a high building, and another was simply bombed in East Beirut. Both cases barely got any coverage except in the Justice Section of Al-Akhbar which tracks attacks on Syrian workers. In Lebanon, a Western reporter I know tells me that Syrian workers often walk with black eyes in the streets of Beirut from beatings that they are habitually subjected to.
