On Thomas Friedman

Really, I mean this. My major problem with Thomas Friedman is not that he is annoying and not that he is very unfunny but thinks that he is funny (he has the wit of a Anver Hoxa), but that he is clueless and a bad writer. I mean, I really prefer William Safire, as a writer that is. Look at this: "Fortunately, though, I found that Sana is not Kabul, and Yemen is not Afghanistan — not yet." Who can ever take seriously a writer who produces such a sentence?
