Hariri family propaganda in the Gaurdian

"His supporters have taken out billboards across the city, reminding people to come out and support them on 14 February." His supporters? Supporters my potato. His family took out billboards across the country. Big difference. "on the route of Obama's jaw-jaw diplomacy." Please spare me those tried out cliches, I beg you. Why do some are too eager to use cliches to show their familiarity with a foreign language? "Saad Hariri did not go on a state visit but to pay his condolences for the death of Assad's brother, Majd. But the symbolism was clear." This last sentence makes it clear that this article is a press release from the Hariri press office in Beirut. "it should not detract from finding the truth about Hariri's killing, and not for mere justice alone." You want the truth? Go find the truth and leave me alone. The search for "truth" is costing the Lebanese more than $30 million to pay for the Hariri tribunal. But if you and the Hariri family want to pay for the truth, please do so. "Hariri was more than just a politician or businessman – he was a symbol of an independent Lebanon." Yes, he was: that is why he was a tool of both: the Syrian and Saudi intelligence services. I mean, can't the Hariri family find more intelligent propagandists with less resort to cliches in language? And by the way: has anyone heard of this "award winning journalist and commentator"? Because I have not. And what was the award? A box of chocolate? (thanks Dina)

PS This reminds me. The Lebanese people are reminded to celebrate on February 14th: it is.....Valentine's Day.
