Charlie Wilson

Of course, Charlie Wilson was glamorized in the film about him by Tom Hanks or Tom Gump, I forgot. Left unmentioned in the film the role that Wilson (and the American administration, beginning from Carter's administration) had played in producing the Islamic fundamentalist fanatical movement, from the ranks of which came Al-Qa`idah. In fact, I will say this: there is no evidence whatsoever that Wilson did NOT meet Usamah Bin Ladin. There is nothing cute about Charlie Wilson's romanticization of fanatical kooks in Afghanistan.
