A keen observer of Middle East studies sent me this (I agree with her): "Judging from the speed at which he is "reading" and based on how horrible his Arabic is, I would guess that he is reading English transliteration of Arabic in his intro and closing remarks. That would explain why he can speak so fast, since I highly doubt based on his inability to correctly pronounce ANYTHING that he could read actual Arabic."
