In this article in this Syrian newspaper there are errors. 1) I am not Palestinians although I am proud to be often thought of as Palestinian; 2) I did not visit Syria last year; 3) I did not ever give a talk in Syria--not that there is anything wrong in giving a talk in Syria. I have not been in Syria in more than 5 years, and I did receive invitations to speak in Syria in the last three years but I have turned them down (see the archive for explanations).
