Syrian civilians attacked in Lebanon
This bus was carrying Syrian civilians in Northern Lebanon (in Dayr `Ammar--a Hariri stronghold). It was sprayed by bullets and one Syrian civilian was killed. Can you imagine the uproar--at the international and UN levels--if this was reversed: if a bus carrying Lebanese civilians was attacked in Syria? And the Syrian government has been equally culpable: it has ignored the attacks on Syrian workers in Lebanon for more than 5 years now. The Syrian foreign minister said that the attack was aimed at Hariri's visit to Syria. Somebody need to tell this minister that Hariri family and March 14 officially championed and endorsed anti-Syrian racism in Lebanon, which produced the attacks on poor Syrian workers in Lebanon. When the Syrian army was in Lebanon, the Lebanese were busy greeting the boots of Syrian solders with their faces, to cite from a famous poem by Khalil Mutran. (Reuters)
