Three Americans in Iran
Now I feel disturbed about this: "Iran said on Tuesday that three arrested American hikers committed the crime of entering the country illegally, even as they are also reported to be facing other possible charges." I don't remember the names of my Berkeley students as well as I remember my students at California State University, Stanislaus. For one, I never grade papers at Berkeley because the TAs do that for me. But a sister of one of the three Americans (the sister of Shane Bauer) told me that he was my student in my Middle East Studies class, and the name sounds familiar. I heard that Shane was an activist for humanitarian causes in the area. I join those who are calling on the lousy Iranian regime to release the three.
