Report from Yemen
My super secret source in Yemen sent me this (she/he does not want to be identified): "I thought of sharing this with you after reading your post on child soldiers reportedly captured by the Saudi army. Although I cannot deny the possibility that the Houthis could be forcibly recruiting child soldiers in Saada, and in fact some families who fled the area did report something of the sort, but I can tell you that most children belonging to tribes in Yemen are armed and tribes here have become an integral part of the conflict on both sides. I have met some tribesmen here supporting the army and I talked to their armed children. When I asked them why they are armed and who they are fighting or plan to fight they told me that they have the duty to fight Shiá and Jews because those are the "fasiqeen fil 'ard" according to the Quran. It seems that anti Jewish sentiments are not exclusive to the Houthis. Ironically, while I was chatting with the kids, they told me that they like Hassan Nasrallah because he is fighting Israel and when I told them that Nasrallah and Hizbullah are Shia' they did not believe me and said that I am lying."
