Nayif Hawatimah: what is wrong with the Arab Left

He symbolizes the failures of the Arab Left. Yet, Abu An-Nuf has a new book on the Arab Left. He even has proposals for rehabilitating it. I have not received the book yet, but read the few chapters that were serialized in the DFLP's mouthpiece, Al-Hurriyyah. Somebody needs to send me the book to write a long review for Al-Akhbar (and a brief one here). But I can tell you that there is no hope in a movement headed or represented by this man. He talks about the left and he invoked lingo from the World Bank. He actually calls for "sustained development." Oh, and Abu An-Nuf wants democracy and equality. I kid you not.
