Israel on the TV station of King Fahd's brother-in-law
I waited for the news broadcast on Sunday on the TV station of King Fahd's brother-in-law (Al-Arabiyya TV) to see their coverage of the Israeli armed thuggery at the holy site in Jerusalem. At 11:22 (it started at 11:00AM). Wow. I was amazed, even with the low opinion that I hold that propaganda outlet. The report only had one clip: a right-wing Israeli railing against Palestinians. Kid you not. And the words used were "clashes" "confrontations", thereby implying a symmetry (just like that lousy Goldstone Report). You may ask what the first 21 minutes of news was all about. Well, it was all about Iran: kid you not. Since the fiasco of the presidential election in Iran, the Al-Arabiyya TV leads always with stories of a sweeping revolution throughout Iran, and news of Ayatullahs (mostly people you have never heard of) expressing outrage at the regime and almost offering praise for Prince Muqrin bin `Abdul-`Aziz. Al-Arabiyya basically operates under the assumption that if you cover Iran and you invent stories of revolt and revolution against the regime, the Iranian masses will be inspired by Saudi propaganda because rank-and-file Iranians prefer Wahhabi Islamic rule to any other form of government.
