Hafidh Al-Asad recommends Antoine Lahd

In 1977, the Lebanese Foreign Minister, Fu'ad Butrus, went to Syria discuss the names of the new commander-in-chief of the Lebanese Army. He met with Hafidh Al-Asad who told him: "It circulated that that there is an excellent officer in the Lebanese Army by the name of Antoine Lahd." (In Fu'ad Butrus, Al-Mudhakkirat, p. 207). I will be writing about this book soon.
