An American student in Beirut
An American graduate student in Beirut (who does not wish to be identified) sent me this: "I was sitting in LeRouge today in Hamra when I overheard the waiters talking. "Dude, you're so Lebanese," the one said. "Most people have no concept of personal space." "Whatever, at least we're better than black people," another said. "I was in the Paris airport one time and this fucking Indian guy kept touching my shoulder, fucking Indian dude." Oh my. I should learn to make coffee at home." Those Lebanese who are talking trash should know that I have my spies everywhere.
