Pumpkins, walnut, and dates cure autism

This is all over Saudi media. That a doctor (a Syrian this time and not a Lebanese, I am glad and I saw her talk about this miracle on King Fahd's brother-in-law's TV station, Al-Arabiyya yesterday) in Saudi Arabia cured children of autism by a diet of walnut, pumpkins, and dates. Before I decided to mock this, I consulted with a brilliant medical scientist, a chief of division at a major medical center here in the US (a Lebanese who has not yet invented a cure for cancer), and I asked him whether I am on sound medical grounds to mock this. He said that I can mock the diagnosis in this case.
