A musahharati (the person who roams the streets at night during Ramadan to wake up people for Suhur (the meal before dawn) was attacked in Sidon. It is sad but there is no need for mushahharati anymore. People have alarm clocks now. One year when I was a child, the musahharati would beat his drum and then would go up to each building and knock strongly on every door of the apartment. Police in Sidon suspected that sleepy people were behind the attack on the guy.

Musahharati under attack
A musahharati (the person who roams the streets at night during Ramadan to wake up people for Suhur (the meal before dawn) was attacked in Sidon.
