The Lebanese Shi`ite Madoff

My mother is closely following the case of Salah `Izz Ad-Din (the Lebanese Shi`ite Madoff with ties to Amal and Hizbullah). She is convinced that Israel had a role in the matter. I find that to be very likely. Yet, those (especially in Hizbullah's leadership or among its members, as Ibrahim Amin pointed out last week) who sought quick riches (with little regard to their own religious rules on profit) are responsible for the phenomenon. I feel the man is still being treated like a celebrity and his ties to Hizbullah and his charitable work may have protected him from public wrath. I read that his minimum share for an investment was $100,000.00 but that it was later raised to $500,000.00.
